Bug Bear Important warning to crucial Covid patients “about fatal consequence” 2023

A group of researchers from institutions in India and Spain observed 14 patients with dementia who had previously been diagnosed with Covid.

They wrote in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease Reports, “Most cognitive post-COVID-19 studies have been conducted on previously healthy individuals with no cognitive impairment prior to COVID-19 infection.”

A year after falling ill, they discovered that their dementia had progressed rapidly.

Four participants were diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, five with vascular dementia, three with dementia due to Parkinson’s disease, and two with the behavioral variant of frontotemporal dementia.

The cognitive functioning of the participants was evaluated using a battery of tests that revealed their attention and language skills, memory, fluency, and spatial perception.

They performed these tests approximately three months before the patients were infected with Covid and approximately a year afterward to determine how the virus affected their brain function.

In addition, pre- and post-Covid MRI examinations of the dementia patients’ brains were conducted.

A year after contracting the virus, the patients experienced a rise in fatigue and despondency.
